Mission Statement

To build a Grid application framework with open, standardized interfaces facilitating the creation of end user services via easy-to-use building blocks in distributed environment.

Main components

GridBlocks Computing is an innovative solution for distributed computing.

GridBlocks Storage is a distributed storage with high availability.

GridBlocks Portlet contains intuitive Grid web portlets.

GridBlocks Security offers components for Grid security.

GridBlocks Mobile offers components for Grid components on mobile devices.

Who we are

Helsinki Institute of Physics - Technology Program, HIP-TEK for short, has acquired hands-on experience of Grid research and development by participating in several EU-wide projects since 2001. Our group is based at CERN, Geneva (The Birth place of WWW and the World's largest Computing Grid, LCG) and in Espoo Finland. Our expertise covers Grid/Cluster computing, security and Java technologies in general. Our group's mission is Technology transfer, meaning we aim to establish industrial project consortiums such as NetGate.

We are members of Liberty Alliance, EU Enabling Grids in eScience (EGEE), JBoss Open Source Federation, and NorduGrid projects.
